Did a quote for a bathroom over a month ago and had it booked in to start today (had a nice few weeks off relaxing :) ).

When i quoted, women told me that a plasterer was coming the next day to do all four walls as they were a mess (a month ago) and also told me she hadn't yet chosen her tiles but they were going to be nothing large or fancy just a standard size ceramic.
Turns up this morning, rings doorbell

Customer: "Hi come in. Plasterer ended up staying late LAST NIGHT to get the walls finished in time for you."

"WHAT?"

Four freshly plastered walls, nice and damp. After explaining that i could not possibly tile onto the walls, took ages for her to understand the reasons why as the plasterer had told her "yeah give it 12 hours and no problems tiling on it".

So told her i will have to come back at a later date, she accepted that and told me she would give me an extra £50 on top for being honest with her and not just doing a botched up job over wet plaster.

Asked her could i see the tiles, as i was already there i could do all the marking out to save me time when i go back.
"here they are" 300 x 600 porcelins!
Nearly put the bloody tiles around her head

That's the main reason that will keep me from going self employed full time I guess, having things thrown at you that could make you end up going maybe a week or so with no income.

Where as now, I have a decent shift job, that also allows me pleanty of time to tile as well, but Im currently quiet myself as I have possibly 3 largish jobs that I may get to do, so I haven't been bothering to get out there door to door much with the old flyers, cos I don't want to end up having shed loads that I can't possibly do.

But it's been a manic last 4 weeks for me so it's nice to have my 4 days off for once.
