Been a touch concerned when doing hard porcelain work with my DeWalt as the corners have been snipping off about 10 to 30mm towards the end of a cut :mad2:
Anyway had a wet room shower tray to tile with procelain 300x300's today, obviously with some pretty precise envelope cutting to do and I really didn't want to be spoiling 1 in every 3 cuts:incazzato:
So I had a bit play about with my DeWalt on some offcuts
It now seems that I had the cutting depth set too highrrr:
After one or two tries I sussed out that the cutting wheel needed to be dropped further below the surface of the rubber cutting bed I had previously had it set approx. 1mm below the surface so that in effect the bottom of the wheel was doing the cutting.
Today I set the blade lower by approx. 10mm so that the leading edge of the wheel was cutting into the tile and 'hey presto' :hurray:
Perfect cutting every time, not one snip all day
