Tried a few different types of tanking system before taking the new tilemaster tanking kit into stock, we had previously sold the weber rubber tape. i find that the TM reinforced (and it is reinforced, it is actually quite flexible) tape sits better into the corners than the rubber type of tape.

Personal choice i guess. But i wouldnt say the TM tape was normal plasterers scrim tape.

The last couple of Ardex kits I've had didn't have any tape in them, not sure if they've stopped supplying it or they were from a Friday afternoon batch!

Ardex is my choice of tanking but i do sometimes use the rubberised self adhesive tape in conjunction with the WPC just for belt and braces.

Have two ardex kits in the garage. Both have the fibreglass scrim tape. I must admit it seems exactly like plasterers self adhesive scrim tape.

The scrim is good for any holes that maybe in the walls, fix scrim and mix the Ardex a little bit thicker so it dos'nt push through the scrim and leave to dry.
