hello all, just thought some of you might be interested to see a day by day photo diary of a bathroom i'm doing over the weekend (hopefully finish on monday). i'm doing the ewpar with max at able skills at the moment, and as a way of him seeing some up to date jobs i've set up a free website that i can put photos and a few words on for him to look at. no tiles up yet as a lot of prep work was needed, but i'm putting pics up from yesterday morning when i first started. any comments and advice are welcome
anyway, here's the link to the site

there's going to be a lot of pictures up by monday, so i thought rather than fill the servers here up with them, i'd put them off site. doing a porcelaine floor next, so may do one for that too. cheers.

What type of top are you going to use here..?

there's going to be cupboards above, so the chippy is putting in some kind of shelf there when he comes to put a new door on. the owner said she'll email me some pics when it's all done.

i think it'll be some kind of wood shelf then the cupboards. it was done on a budget, so i think stone was out of the question here. would've been nice though.

Shame the pipes where not chased in wall between vanity unit and bath dont look good to me the rad pipes would have been better straight into valves then you can use chrome sleve now they have 90 degree angle can not do tiling good you have put pics up so i am only giving my thoughts I must say I only fit mid to high end bathrooms but I do gurantee customer they will be fitted as perfect as pos no pipes etc. Also you need to earth that rad as it has been fed in copper who is doing the electrics?

yeah, i'd agree with you about the pipes by the vanity unit, but i didn't really have a say in that. the owner is having a chippy come in to do a few bits, and they'll be boxed in. the rad pipes, again weren't anything i had any control over, as i never touch plumbing or electrics, and go with what the plumber says. this was done on a very tight budget, so can't really expect perfection. don't know anything about the earth, but will speak to the plumber in the am about that. he got the electrician in, so i suppose they'll sort that out. what was it that's wrong with the tiling though? not sure where you mean about that. any constructive criticism about the tiling is welcomed, but need to be a bit more specific.

Sorry if not clear I said tiling good and apreciate you going to the trouble of posting pics wishing you all the best in your next project:thumbsup:
i think i probably used the wrong title for this post, as it may give the impression i was doing everything myself, when all i'm doing is the tiling. it's a point about the earth though, and i think you may have mentioned it earlier in this thread too. not something i know anything about, but i will certainly ask the plumber about it tomorrow. is it dangerous or something? he's a good plumber so i'm surprised he'd have missed something if it's critical.

If there is not a break such as plastic pipe between metal objects in room they need to be bonded with in room you can put earth clamp out of sight now but you need sparky to explain better than myself to meet part p and give certificate to customer which sparky will have to do

i'm calling the plumber tonight, as he's going in to fit the his last few bits in the morning, so i'll ask him about it then. i haven't seen any earth clamps in there, so he may need to get the electrician back to sort it out. thanks for the advice.

If the board has been upgraded to meet the 17th edition then no secondry earth bonding is requiered.

The gas and watermain should be bonded back to the board.

your electrician will Know all this
