Only a D.I.Y jobber on my own home, I have two rooms to tile a utility room and kitchen both walls and floors, the wife is not helping by not choosing both tiles as yet, but she will be guided by the tools I have at my disposal. Within my budget I'm considering a choice of dry cutting machines such as a Vitrex big clinker....a 445mm vitrex flat bed.....a rubi star....or a used rubi TS 50 Plus. Can you helpfull guys give any advice as to which is the best way to go, I will even up the budget a little so as to sell on after completion.

ive had a rubi star, its a good machine for the money and will cope well with ceramic

ive never used the klinker but I know tilers who swear by them

I have a ts 50 which is a great bit of kit and is probabably your best bet if you can find a decent one second hand, check for play in the head as they can wear

you could probably get back what you paid if you buy a second hand ts 50

Depends what tile your cutting but if its ceramic the Rubi Star series are great and nice to use

This is a problem, I know that for the walls we will use ceramic, but as for the floor I'm not certain. I believe the TS will cover me for this, am I correct? Plus I like the idea of selling on the TS at a later date. Thanks for the input.

I have decided to go for the TS 50 Plus

Very good, professional standard machine Steve:thumbsup:Have you checked the price at Tradetiler? It's £196.78, but you will get far superior service and after sales than 'Fleabay' - David might even be able to price match:thumbsup:

Just make sure that you use 'Silicon spray' (any hardware shop will sell it) when you lubricate the rails and not WD40 or 3in1:thumbsup:
