As we all know, tiles are getting larger but is there a definition for a large format tile. Is it a certain amount per sq m, or is it density? Started fitting 600 x 400 about 5 years ago and thought they were massive then, but these days it's very rare that I fit anything smaller, got a house to start in next couple of weeks and there's 120sq m of 1000 x 33, so biting the bullet and getting a tx1200n. It would be interesting to hear what every body else thinks.

Like I've said in another post we have just taken in some 800x400 tiles which we define as large format. But in addition to the larger size the depth is up from 9mm to 12mm.

This adds not only extra drilling time to our costs but an increase in weight which we have to remember when shipping.

Supplied in a pack of three and they are bloody heavy to lug about.

Most tiles you see now are large format, I think the definition of large format is 300x300 or larger. We cannot change the defanition of what is and isnt just because most of them are. We seem to be living in the large format era but times will change and then everyone will want the smaller tiles again.. keeps us all busy though.
