Hello Tim,

I was one of the installers that DeWalt had field test the saw. We've been using ours for almost three years and love it. The only serious problem we have had with the saw is the GFI block on the cord. We finally cut it off and just plug into a household GFI receptacle.

If you have any questions let me know and I'll be happy to answer them.

Thanks Rob. What is it like cutting out for sockets in the middle of the tile? Also what is the blade like that comes with it? could i cut bricks with it. how long do they last? Do you think £600 is a good price? Cheers mate.

Sorry just realised that you are in the USA, prices are a bit steeper here.

Hi Tim,

The blade that came with the saw wasn't very good. The company quickly gave me another one that was beefier and cut forever. I finally got a new blade for it the other day from the DeWalt rep. I have been told that DeWalt started including the better blade with the saw after my initial testing period started. i can look tomorrow at the model number and let you know what it is, if that helps.

The plunge cut feature is great. I had a background in finish carpentry, and my thought is that the DeWalt tile saw is like using a compound miter saw for cutting wood. We have used it to cut everything tiny mosaics to concrete bricks, large pavers, slabs of stone, and Corian. I think the saw has plenty of power. I sold my Target Tilematic because I never used it anymore.

The saw costs about $1050 here now. I don't know how that compares to a pound in the UK.

If you could check the model number that would be great. All this info is great thanks. I ordered the cutter earlier today so should get it within a week... i cant wait to get it set up.

Here is a link for a lengthy thread about the DeWalt saw that was started almost three years ago at John Bridge's forum. The main issues people seem to have with the saw is that they think it isn't going to stand up to the heavy use some crews might need to get out of the saw. We are remodel contractors and don't do production work. This thread has a lot of info in it.
