Hi, that's how I always cut tiles on the machine. Plunge till it touches the tile and slide the bed forward, then plunge further in and pull the bed back. Once the tile has a groove, I can lock the head fully plunged and cut as normal.
I have to mark the tiles on both sides and align the tile on the machine on both marks to get a straight cut mostly having to move the tile left or right 1-2mm on the front edge.
Really strange, as sometimes I will put a tile on the bed and it's perfectly straight.
