different brand primers / adhesives

Hi Just a quickie

would it be ok to use a Palace primer with a bal product. Its just I have a bathroom to do tomorrow and I have an almost full bottle of palace primer and I'm using Bal Whitestar.

I know priming isnt required with whitestar as such but I like to be extra cautious.

It is wise to use the same brand to warrant your guarantee............

BAL do state that white star doesn't need a primer, but also depends upon the substrate as well ......I am the same as you i prime as it makes the substrate less porous , as long as its an impregnating type primer then it is ok to prime....but i only use bal primers and adhesives anyway....

Simple answer - No

Primers are all different and contain different chemicals which may react with the different cements in adhesives.......thats a lot of differents...

If it goes wrong ( and it will one day )you're absolutely on your own without a paddle !
