Disclosure help.

I had to go through this disclosure thing, when I was offered a teaching job at Salford College. They check Police records, medical, god knows what else. Passed with flying colours. But months later, I was offered a job at Accrington College, and was told it would have to be done all over, different job. I can't see why? I hav'nt suddenly become a paedophile.:mad2:

Yes basically this is what a disclosure is,checks that you are not drug lord,peedo,have history of violence etc...basically because you will be working in peoples houses they are just checking you wont be a threat or a risk to the customer.

Hi Brian...you should only require a basic disclosure and it will need to be less than a year old, otherwise they are unlikely to accept it..you can do it online if you have lived at your current address for so many years (disclosurescotland) and costs about £23..if you register with trading standards, you also have to have a basic disclosure..it's becoming more common with bigger companies and it's definately worth having because it can take weeks to process and that delay could cost you a job or more...

Don't you need to be working for someone/employed to get a check, self employed you can't, as a one man band.
