YOU MUST HAVE DONE IT WRONG:hurray:
I HAVE BEEN TILING FOR 17 YEARS AND WHEN PVA IS REC I WILL USE IT, IT IS WHEN U MIX IT TO THICK U GET THE PROBLEMS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A TILE FALL OFF.
Ok, so if I score the area to be tiled and then prime with Mapei Primer G or BAL ADP I should be ok?
I really didn't realise you couldn't tile straight on top of emulsion. I kinda feel silly because we painted the walls BEFORE tiling, well, partly.
It seems very odd to me that it's considered OK for plasterers to use PVA prior to skimming a wall, but then a tiler who comes along afterwards and wouldn't use PVA.
Surely the same principle applies?[/quote yes it does. when moisture makes contact with pva it becomes active again BUT A BIG BUT the adhesive or plaster dries and so does the PVA giving it the adhesive properties but it only works if mixed correctly. to many people on here r primer mad . follow the recs:hurray:
Actually i rarely use Bal so you need to do your home work and if the years decide who is right or wrong then my 31 years should settle it....but i doubt it....as i say you carry on with the PVA.
sorry i did not mean you i meant the forum. it has recomended TOPPS TILES for advise and materials in the past.like i stated i use wat ever the manufacter recomends but mainly sbr but just saying a lot rec PVA .
