Dog Tooth Depth. (try saying that fast three times)

I have decided to use the dog tooth option and would appreciate any advice offered.

My field tiles are 10mm thick, the mosaics are 7mm.

My question is what depth do i cut my dog tooth ??

I'd probably cut it to about 8mm then use a 3mm trowel once dog toothed screed has set.

As Doug says, cut the tooth to 1-2mm deeper than the mosaic tile.

Is there any other names for this process ! ? as to me it just don't sound very tiling /mosaic-ish lol ............

tiles 10 mm 8 mm trowel = 12 mm mosaics 7mm 3 mm trowl = 8 mm = 4 mm diference = 8mm dog tooth leaving a 4mm bed 🙂

Or use mosaic mesh.

Just put the mosaics against the dog tooth and mark slightly smaller than the mosaic then away you go. Use a grout float to keep nice and flat
