As you 5mm is not enough especially with an acrylic bath, have you mentioned the thought of changing taps....

yep, it's the only viable option I think Mark, one of those that are dome shaped at the back would do it I reckon.

in all fairness Rob, that was my first thought, but if plumber had brought it forward anymore it would've been into the curl of the bath wall. With hindsight it maybe should've been situated in a corner rather than on the length of bath.

Can the tap be removed and hole elongated at all...if the base will cover of course ?

Then the wrong bath was bought and is unsuitable for centrally mounting the taps. Not all baths are

just intrigued to know from a pro plasterer what the minimum amount of dabs would be, is there a recommended minimum?

Min 20% of the surface area of the board, I think!
