Have to agree Dan. Every time a tiler agree's to make good and get on with it, he's leaving himself wide open in the blame culture we now live in and saying you need to pay the mortgage no longer cuts it in my opinion!

If you are only going to tile on to perfectly flat and level walls and floors can I have your tools because you will not be needing them.

If the floors out of wack there is slc walls you use adh all comes down to preparation
trouble is Jay over here we still have a cowboy culture from the main contractors, the builders here live in the past and dont understand how important prep work is and if you mention it you are called a prima donna or they think you are trying to scam extra money out of the job ,a big part of the problem is tiling is a finishing trade and by the time the tilers arrive on site the job budget is gone so there is rarely any spare money left to rectify the poor prep work done before so its always" can you get over it " rather than " we will get it right for you"

Same probs here with builders but remember when it hits the fan the builder will blame you ,adh have there limitations if you push them they will fail ,The finished job needs to be flat only you know what has to be done, maybe after you charge extra to fix problems the builder may wake up and try harder to fix his probs rather than pay extra (wouldn't hold my breath) only work for two builders here ,they know what is expected

As TJ just said in another post.. A good tiler can get over that.... how true is that saying sometimes...

In an ideal world we would all like bowling green floors and mirror flat walls... but that is an ideal world and sometimes we have to make do with what we have when there is zero budget for prep work..
