lynn, why not tell him he's got to pay for it . but you will recover the cost over the next 4 weeks . just to ease the pain !! if he kicks off then ask him to come up with a solution to the problem and the cost of putting it right?? there is no way you should take it . we all make cockups from time to time :yikes: and have to bare the cost of putting it right. coz we care about what we do.that should apply to every one in the trade

I did get pulled about the staircase, and I have to rip it up and pay for the new marble. My contracts manager read him the riot act, and then sent him along to me, it turns out he has got a few personal troubles at home right now, but all the same it was a stupid trick to play, and then the cant be bothered comment still riles me. The fixer in question got ripped apart by the other lads, for his own stupidity more than anything else. I moved him onto another contract for the time being, if he does a good job on the other contract like he used to, then I'll think about shifting him back but not before.

I docked him 500.00 of his last invoice, and the next ones will get the same treatment till its all paid off. At the end of the day hes still got to pay his rent and bills I cant take it all in one chunk.

I spoke to him last night about the other job hes on, and I think hes still thinking that he's got a point about the drawings being wrong....I cut him of short and told him 2 wrongs dont make a right end of story. That didnt go down well, but I cant babysit everyone, it wears me out.
