Fed up today

fed up today, got the hump tiled a porcelain bathroom and am not happy with the detail around the mirror , cant get it out of my head and want to go back tomorrow and chop out the tiles and redo them, cant get there tomorrow or Saturday so will have to go in on Sunday to alter it :mad2: on the up side work seems to be picking up and I have a nice floor to tile Friday and Saturday for a potentially good contact still it doesn't change the fact I am annoyed with myself :mad2:

Pleased to hear work is picking up. And sort of happy that you're willing to re-do things to make them perfect, that's what makes a good tiler, right?

I have one tile that has been bugging me me for 3 years now, the customer wont let me change it either !!! maybe i'm to fussy.
Good to hear your picking up a bit Gary, getting slowish here and now i have a cancellation next week with no filler!!! work beyond though so need more quick.

I stay awake at night with probs like that.

Everyone knows when something they have laid isnt right (no jokes please ) its just a sign of how professional a person they are as to whether they can live with it.

Must admit,last few weeks it seems to be picking up a bit round here(yorkshire).I was chocka over xmas,unusually and jan then it died off a bit.Quoted about 5 jobs this week,just hope i land them

Aah, the curse of the perfectionist, Gary! Yep, I can relate, loads of times I have some idea and it seems great and then I think about it and hate it the next day or have a better idea and have to start again... that's just the way it goes sometimes. Good to have the chance to redo things though

im the same,it iritates the wife to no ends,tossing and turning all night,and 9 times out of 10 the customer won't even notice whatever you think don't look right.
you even get them telling you "your too much of a perfectionist":yikes:

got back there today and altered what was bugging me ,I had made the top of the mirror too low which was fine for the customer but just didnt feel right when you walked in the door so I had to remove four 60x60 tiles and replace them to get the mirror height right

I am not sure if they have even noticed yet and they hadnt asked for it to be changed but I knew it wasnt quite right so I changed it anyway LOL
