Ok, had my new fein multimaster for about a week now. Very impressed, its already been more than useful, doing jobs that would have otherwise been really hard to do. However, I keep coming across a minor problem - using the bi-metal blade on different woods, it seems to create a lot of heat and smouldering. Almost to the point that I can imagine creating a fire - is that normal? Am I pushing it too hard?

Paul

PS - is the bi-metal the best blade for wood (I know its good if the wood may have nails - but what about pure wood)? Would another type of blade be better?

It works for me Clays, Although Andy, sent me a PM yesterday cos mine was doing the same thing. But then again im mid server move at the moment so that's probably why mine went funny.

Ehh, the bi metal blade is for wood and if there is a possibility of nails.
Use the wood only blade for wood only...if that makes sense. As the guys say dont push too hard but it whistles through wood of all sorts, only smoulders once blunt, then its time for a change.

You should be using the 65mm E cut blade on the link above for wood!
