Bal rapidset will be fine..but others then maybe not.....the bal one is flexible to a certain extent.....so is Mapie's mapeker.....They make these adhesives modifed for porcelain but not suitable for timber or ufh and that heats the whole substrate...this is a fire hearth...so will be fine...but if in doubt use flexi addy..

It really depends upon what the fire is to used for doug..those ones i did were for wood burning stoves....so no probs....

Now if this was an open fire then YES go flexible.......
