I posted here last week for some advice on my first job - a cloakroom for my mother with sink, toilet and shower. The only thing that will be in the room when i tile it is the shower tray - happy days!

I was due to do it this weekend but the shower tray had not been installed so its been delayed a little bit. The thing is, my mother has bought different tiles to what she originally specified.

They are glazed ceramic but are pretty big, 30 x 40cm and pretty weighty (about 2kg each i think), and the substrate is mainly plastered walls, with a little bit of plywood where there is some boxing in of pipes.

So my question is, i was planning on using Bal's White Star for ease, but is this going to be enough to hold a tile this big?

Any help always appreciated and welcome (I don't want them falling off the walls!!).

Cheers guys and gals

I'd recommend a cement based adhesive for this size tile
I'm doing a job with slightly bigger tiles than yours and using cement based

www.powerspeconline.com recommends BAL single part flexible
Thanks TileForm. That's what i suspected.
How's business in the glorious north east? I'm doing missionary work in Yorkshire but hope to move back soon!:joker:

Definately powder stuff for this one Dan. White star is only "easy to use" cos you don't have to mix it. It is quite hard work to trowel onto walls and if you don't clean your tiles down as you go, it is a real pain to get off if you leave it to dry. Powder stuff cleans off easier even if you have left it to dry, for some reason.
