i agree to say no 2 jobs the same, but bathroom, kitchen etc are more or less the same, hence why i asked if you guys would say a set price in mind b4 you see job, then amend to your liking after???:mad2:
Don't really agree with your comment there Clays! Kitchens can be radically different. My first one had 15 sockets to cut around and was tiled with 100x100x10 (floor) tiles. My next kitchen is using 100x200x6 in brickbond and only has 10 sockets and smaller area. Fixed pricing schemes wouldn't work in situations like that.

So how does that work clay? Somebody rings you up and says I have a bathroom I want tiling its about 8ft by 6ft and 8ft tall and I want a 200 x 200 tile. So you say thats about 20 sq metres i'll do it for 400 and when you gfet there it is really 24 Sq metre with a border and trim loads of boxing in and a big window to tile and it takes all week. Theres no such thing as standard.

touchy! i was only saying did anyone have a price in mind b4 they get there, then add on extra once they've looked over the job! not by saying to them on phone "oh that'll be £***.00" NOW that would be stupid!:stupid:

clays, theres nothing wrong with you setting standard rates per m2 i.e.20walls,25floors and working of that but really its not viable to have set rates for jobs like toilets etc but splashbacks i could advise you charge a minimum of 120 because you normally have to go back next day and grout up etc, this would be beneficial to you im sure m8,Bri:thumbsup:

Not at all touchy just trying to point out that it is not possible too work out a standard rate. Some work to the principal of " i charge 25 per metre floors, 20 walls but at the end it comes down to how long the job takes. So maybe it is best to have a day rate in mind and if that person describes a 20m bathroom that you could do in 3 days then you have 3x 120 in mind but when you get there you can see it will take 4 days then a figure of 480 if accepted is a bonus.

Keep on tiling .

All the best. :joker:

Tom thats the point i was trying to make m8.

Sometime's your'll try and fit to much in a day, Pricing is a an art even the big boy's make mistake's (wembley Stadium for instance) And like many guy's have said, how much cutting, distance to travel and what tile's your laying, every job is individual so price as such.
