Just wondered if many of you actually know of any places that will take on tilers, and not just as a subby.
Like I know of plasterers who will take on other plasterers, paid weekly just like a normal job, but tiling really seems to be full of one man bands or just builders.

try yell.com go onto the list of tilers in your area some of them are tiling companies but most are self employed give them a ring

i used to work for a company in preston tile style and chorley ceramics

Try bathroom and kitchen fitting companies too. Dolphin bathrooms need good tilers, though they do have some currently - lots of bad feedback online about their work so they must need some good tradesmen onboard.

I don't want a job, I was just wondering if there was actually much scope of being an employed tiler, as from what I know it always seems to be one man bands or a partnership.

Personally I would'nt give partnership's house room and take that from experience.
