think of it in this way you are sitting at home having a beer theres a knock on the door you open it there stands some you have never seen in your life you say hello can i help you .he says yes you can i would like to borrow £20000 .if you dont mind putting your house on the line for me and your marrage .i may pay you back on time but i dout it .i will probaly discount it .keep 5% just dont feel like giving it back make up some reason i always do .and will always pay you half what your exspecting .while having yet again a great holiday while you cant .and have you seen my new top of the range car just love free banking .so mr mug have you got any cash on you now i fancy a take away on the way home .well every time you come across a new builder his last banker just gone bust dont let it be you

Yes have heard of them, they were a well established long standing company, never done any work for them, prefer just to have my domestic customers. Very rarely do commercial work or subbing, maybe thats a godsend, you don't make masses of money but by the same token you don't get hit for large sums

43 years go was run by builders with a clue today run by bean counters with out a clue do not value quailty or time only beans on paper

I know mate, been on 90 days before now and didn't get paid on time!!..

Council or public sector works have to pay within 30 days due to new legislation. private sector get away with paying when they want.

It's r uining the building trade and putting small firms under, all your doing is financing the builders job with no interest!.. (Or no payment in my case)

had a developer in the other day asked me to give him a quote i gave him one on account one pro forma the one account had no discount he asked me why there was so much diffrence i said well if you are using my money to finnace your job i want part of the proffit .from the sales .now if you pay me pro fofma
i can use my money to make me some money . i mean realy do i look like a banker thilfiy rich i have much to learn banks dont give out free money why should you

I'd add 10% on then tell them there's a 5% discount for paying in 30 days.

That's more than they get then sitting on your money and earning interest so they usually take that.
