How many of us on the forum know of members on here who just observe and never post?...have asked some and the various answers have been that they are not confident enough and another one which i thought pretty disrespectful was ..a lot of them talk a load of **** and there are ways around things etc....any thoughts?

I see names floating about the who's online box, but never really take much notice, probably because they dont stand out because they dont post much .

Although I can appreciate how some people would be shy not to post incase they say the wrong thing for (unfounded) fear of looking a bit daft. Though Doug doesnt seem to mind :prrr::prrr:

I first joined the forum as a sanity check - I wanted to ensure that I was doing things correctly. After "lurking" for some time I realised that I knew as much as many others and could offer advice so started to contribute more.

I still feel that if I have nothing further to add to previous postees, then why waste everyone's time, so remain silent.

I'm not bothered by my post count, it's about keeping up to date with the most current techniques and products and ensuring that my methods are still the best.

My wife lurks on another couple of forums to do with neigbour/boundary laws etc. She doesn't post because she has no need. She gains a lot of knowledge. What she posts would only be duplicates of what others have said.

She had gleaned quite a bit of info.

Bit different to me - I have to have my say on most things
