Gonna Be expensive

Drove about a mile this morning and had a complete brake failure in my van. Was a bit scary as we went straight through the traffic lights at the roundabout and the apprentice screemed like a girl, which gave me more of a scare than the brakes.

Recovery has taken van away to garage and now that I'm home checking my paperwork, the warrennty ran out end of April. Waiting on diagnosis from garage to see if I need to hire van for a couple of days, but will put a tenner on it I don't get change out of £500......grrrrrr

Screamed like a girl. Let him that got a laugh on the forum :lol: I can imagine it now. He's reaching for the door handle ready to jump ship screaming like a girl. haha

Pleased to hear nowt serious happened. A gutter when you have issues with your van though. And it'd be mad to have a backup van so it's just one of those things I guess.

Same thing happened to me last yr..

Some polythene got wrapped around the drive shaft and brake pipe to caliper.. result was it wrapped tight and tore off the brake pipe.. and this happened as i was approaching a round about.... so deffo scary.... mine cost 100 dabs..

Both front sets of pads had collapsed causing damage to both calipers and disc's. Had new pads fitted by Ford all round last year and they had less than 10,000 miles on them. The Ford dealership that did the work has closed down. Got it at the Landrover garage I use for my cars and have been quoted £700.00 for repair with all ford parts....!

I know the guys well at the garage and they're gonna try and get the work needed paid by ford, but they don't think I have much of a chance, as they have so many get out clauses with brake pads. Will also be contacting them myself just to make sure I get the right story......
