A while ago I was asked if I could tile a newly fitted bathroom for a friend of the missus. I was quite happy to give them a quote at mates rates, but I didn't hear anything from them until yesterday. The missus told me that they had had the bathroom tiled by a tiler that the plasterer recommended. He was fully qualified and experienced according to the plasterer. The customer wanted to know if tiles should be put up using 4 or 5 blobs of adhesive because she didn't think it looked right.
I told her that it wasn't the best way to fix tiles because of voids behind the tiles, tiles not fully gripped to the wall, water ingress etc. Should I recommend that she gets them refixed, tell her that it'll do or just nod smuggly cos I think I would have done a much better job probably cheaper.
Or am I in danger of disappearing up me own backside?
