Seeking Advice

Hi Forum I am new on here. I was hoping someone could help me with advice on our outdoor tiling job.

Our tilers have put grout between the walls and the floor tiles. I was led to believe you should have a flexible material between 2 different to stop cracking of tiles or them popping off? They said its only required if there are 4 walls surround the tiles?? and it should not matter as its only up against 1 wall leaving room for natural movement?

Also the slab under the pavers was poured at 2 different times and they have tiled full tiles over this slab joint. Will we have a problem in the future will tiles cracking in this area? What should they have done?

I hope someone can guide me as I am a bit worried we paid top dollar.

Regards
Maria

Transitions should be Silicon not grout and it would have been wise to have a joint/soft joint on the 2 different pours. This said, neither of these issues will guarantee a failure. Get them to change the grout to Silicon as you're the customer , you don't have to tell them they are wrong, but they are.

As above. Perhaps the grout isnt fully cured yet either so might be quite a quick painless change too if it's done sooner rather than later. Nice neat Silicon joint in a colour to match the tiles too will look lovely.

Any pictures of the tiling? We love a good picture or two. Tile nerds all over the place on this forum. 🙂
