Ive just been reading another post about grouting in corners. On my course i was taught to run your tile up to the internal corner wall then to cut as close as you can from the next wall leaving no gap as you can and to grout. But know iv read that you leave a couple mm in any corners.Im confused.:mad2:

2mm gap then Silicon internal corners:thumbsup:

please never grout,so many times i've had calls from people and found out the previous tiler has grouted the corners turned up to look at the job and the grout has all cracked letting water seep behind the tiles causing tiles to come loose or grout to dis-colour,either way it's expensive for the customer to fix

When we did the shower area we ran the tiles as tight as we could to the internal wall the when following your next course round on your baton get the next corner tile as close as you can and so on,then when all the tilings done grout and the corner same with the bath.I did question this and said wouldnt it be better to silicon the corner,He said you could but grout line would be fine and silicon the shower tray where the tiles meet and silicon the bath etc.So you silicon every corner in the bathroom no grout lines. So is it best to get a close match of the silicon to the grout you use.

Im annoyed now because i questionsed him about this,Because i said when i was going to tile my floor at home i would be leaving a 3mm gap down the side of the walls as to look like a grout line and would look better. But he replied and said no run it up to the wall because if the wall is running away to the side it would be hard to keep the same distance from the wall with each tile.
