Im annoyed now because i questionsed him about this,Because i said when i was going to tile my floor at home i would be leaving a 3mm gap down the side of the walls as to look like a grout line and would look better. But he replied and said no run it up to the wall because if the wall is running away to the side it would be hard to keep the same distance from the wall with each tile.
did he not show you how to get your cuts

one thing you can be sure off whatever floor you tile,

the walls will be out and the room will be out of square

the art of the tiler is to get an even gap which hide these defects

yes he showed us how to get the cuts we need but its just this 2mm gap that he never said just tile up to the wall.

Then you have been taught wrong IMO.

British standards opinion as well!

Anywhere where 2 surfaces meet, internal corners, wall to floor joint etc.

At an internal corner the two tiles should be able to slide behind one another which is achieved by leaving a 2-3mm joint which is then filled with something that allows movement.
