grouting in corners confusion

Im annoyed now because i questionsed him about this,Because i said when i was going to tile my floor at home i would be leaving a 3mm gap down the side of the walls as to look like a grout line and would look better. But he replied and said no run it up to the wall because if the wall is running away to the side it would be hard to keep the same distance from the wall with each tile.

did he not show you how to get your cuts

one thing you can be sure off whatever floor you tile,

the walls will be out and the room will be out of square

the art of the tiler is to get an even gap which hide these defects

everything else i was taught seems fine just this 2mm gap.But i would of siliconed the shower or bath corners anyway because this is a conversion that happened between a few of the lads their and we agreed we would silicon but now i know you need to do every other corners too.

yes he showed us how to get the cuts we need but its just this 2mm gap that he never said just tile up to the wall.

Would usually tile with a 2-3mm spacer so when marking, I'd give it 4-5mm from where the cut's to. Always best giving a few mm for flex, although any more than a few and it'll look like an untidy job.
