Handmade tiles not flat

Advice needed please. Beautiful handmade tiles, brick shape behind stove for large splashback. It has just been put in, and it is not flat. It looks characterful, but what a shame. Should i ask for a retile?

If the handmade tiles were not flat before fitting then they wont be after !

Tiles or the wall??

as in, each individual tile is bent, or we've put a straight-edge over the finished wall, and now we see that its not flat?

I'm guessing its lippage, probably made more apparent by the lights on the extractor fan which are probably no more than 2 inch off the wall.

hi, are the tiles themselves perfectly flat or are they like most handmade tiles twisted etc

Handmade Cotswold tiles by any chance? Very popular tiles, but massive variation on thicknesses.
