Has this been done correctly?

I had some tiling done in my bathroom a few weeks ago. There is a section below my shower that i am not entirely happy about, and i've posted the pictures below to see if my concerms are justified.
There are 2 sections - 17 inches apart - that vary in quality of workmanship.
first part -

doesn't look too bad, does it? I'm happy with this bit.
second part -

Pretty shabby? Compared to the top image?
I'm trying to ignore it, but it jumps out at me every time I walk in the room.
can anyone confirm my fears this this will need done again?

And yeah, first looks decent enough from the angle you took the picture.

Not too good is it........wrong setting out of the tiling..thats why he hasn't been able to get the tile edge to the trim...The tile at the face of the installation should have been cut to accomodate the top tile and tile trim thickness..

No they just butt up...the bottom pic isn't too bad but the top one is well wonky

It isn't silicon, it's grout. Lots of grout.
As mentioned, he seems to have forgotten to compensate for a bit of wood that was to be added later in the construction of the shower base. Why, when he noticed this mess, he never did anything about it, I'll never know.
As he's a friend/work colleague, i'm now in the awkwrd situation of having to tell him I want it rectified. He's done the rest of the bathroom reasonably well, but this bit is just bugging the hell out of me.

I, personally, dislike those pre formed mitres, as if the other work is out of square you have no room for adjustment. But as Dave says, a view from further back would enable us to see the setting out better:8:

its a bit of a sloppy finish he should have brought the table top tile forward and left a bit and it looks to me like the corner piece has been knocked before it set firm.

Should have got a raised shower tray, your stuffed if the waste leaks, that tray should have been on the floor and if it did leak at least you could get to it from underneath, but if it looks good what’s a little cost matter (sorry I’m just a plumber)

that may be why its done wrong,if he pulls the tile forward and left maybe it wouldn't be under the tray anymore ie:L cut to small.

having magnified the top image, it looks as though your tiler didn't really have much choice; ie the supporting stud work for your shower tray is not quite square

what i mean is the L cut is not close enough to the trim,so maybe he slid it back to make sure it was under the tray

yeah, but if he slid it out it would show up the unsquareness(?) of shower base even more with respect to preformed mitre,ie it'd kick one side in even more

the problem is easily solved,just tile again over the top of the existing albeit up to the tray.
