I asked him to sort the job out when i said it wasn't correct, he said he didn't want to.

He slapped those tiles up in about 1 hour and I have took them all off again and scrapped the adhesive off so may be able to salvage the tiles.

In no way am i in the wrong, I would pay him with no issue at all if the job was right or he sorted it out and i gave him every opportunity for him to resolve the issues.

Going to do it myself now, done a fair bit of tiling myself (Strictly DIY) and get good comments on it and my work looks a shed load better than that!!

I have laid the whole thing out on my PC gathered a lot of help off this forum when i was originally going to do the job myself; have checked to make sure my cuts leave no slithers i have a laser level to make sure the lines are plumb etc.

Just a shame i have to do it and that my inner perfectionist will start to kick in!!

Having sing written van, proper/branded cutters wont make person a proper tiler

I know, just trying to get a gist what type of guy did the work, imo makes things twice as worst if this guy actually things he is a tiler....doing tiling day in day out..

The guy was a full time tiller no van he had an estate car. Big Rubi tile cutter and massive wet saw monogrammed t-shirt business cards Facebook group page with thanks and fair few likes.

He had a diary full of jobs for the next few months and I had to wait for two weeks for him to start as be had to fit me in!

Obviously people are happy with crap work I know brick bond is slightly more complex to do but he showed me pictures of work he had just finished with a red metro style tile that looked good on the photos but you never saw the corners thinking about it!!

Could well be. But you live and learn think he got the idea I roughly (DIY wise) knew what I was on about so scarpered ASAP

You live and learn and its given me the confidence to do it myself like i originally planned to I know I won't **** it up anywhere near as bad as he did. I've made a start on fixing the problem and what I have done so far looks spot on :)
