heads up for drivers as from tomorow

just received a text from a friend as from tomorow police are going to be stopping people with uncleared snow on the roof of there cars and issuing on the spot 60 pound fines and 3 points

this is in the lothian areas but not sure how more widespread it is going to be....take care peeps

nice easy way to make themselves a lot of fine money

Good, I've seen some right idiots with well over 2" of snow on their roofs, one had his gaurdian angel with him yesterday, the thick slab of snow slid from his roof completeley covering his windscreen when he pulled upto the traffic lights yesterday coming out of the town centre, it was so thick he had to get out and push it off becuase his windscreen wipers couldnt push it. No more than 5 mins later he braked heavily on the dual carriageway from 60mph, if the lights had been green minutes earlier and he hadnt have had to stop the snow would have still been his roof and would have then slid onto his windscreen instead - whilst he was doing breaking from 60, leaving him driving infront of me and the wife completley blind, on a dual carriageway. :mad2::mad2:

It takes a few minutes to push the snow of the roof, why would anyone take the risk.

Spoke to a Derbyshire Traffic cop, as I heard this mentioned on talk squawk earlier, he said that offence would be that you are caught with just gap to see through the windscreen. He sees all sorts!
