hello everyone,im the new kid on the block

i have 30 odd sqm to fix on differing substrates tile backer and concrete [to be levelled .would i use the same adhesive,i wonder and would i need an expansion joint between floorboards with backing board and concrete with self levelling?

Hi Curly and welcome to TF, yes I would glue and screw the backer board, I would use Keraquick and latex plus or similar 2 part for the timber side, and deffo an expansion joint between the two substrates. I hope this helps, good luck.

hi although i have been tiling fo over fifteen years ive never incorperated an expansion joint. how would you do that?

Hi mate I would position the joint directly over the transition of timber and concrete floors.

You can get preformed joints from Schluter, Dural, Genesis and many more. Or you could make your own, I will try to find some pics.
