Evening All, I wonder if you can help me.. I'm trying to contact as many tilers as possible in and around Essex/East London area...for a chance/break into tiling.. I am looking for a complete different career change, I am eager to learn all aspects of tiling and have a can-do attitude. I live in the Romford area and I'm 32 years old.. (hopefully not to old to start a new trade) Im in the process of booking on to a course but would like to see if any tilers would show me the ropes? As I hear this is the best way to get in to the trade and learn? I have been on Facebook joining tilers groups etc and putting myself out there, also been to local tile shops asking if they know of anyone. Still no luck.. ..If you know of anything or can point me in the right direction please DM me..
Thanks
Ryan

I am looking at Goldtrowel and Special Trade Courses to start on tiling.. I'm hoping this will give some foundation into tiling... as anyone had any experience with these courses, if so what are they like? Thanks again
Good luck Ryan, try our sponsor, heard nothing but good things about them. Keep trying local tilers sure one will appreciate someone willing to learn.

Hello Ryan, I`m up the road in Chelmsford. The best thing you can do is contact local builders, plumbers, plasterers and tile shops once you have completed your course. Take pictures of any work you do for reference. Tile shops will be your best bet though.
If you work out a discount with the tile shop for your customers it will help you generate business between you both. Best of luck mate!

Hi Ryan I think I may have mentioned this to you on Tilers Talk on Facebook but I started out by doing a course with STC when they were based in Harlow, I cant vouch for them these days as theres been lots of changes. But just go along and check them out and the same for any other centre. Some do Taster Days so you can get the feel for the place and course. A course will give you the basics to get started such as setting out and substrate prep etc. Do the longest course you can afford.
