Help needed with marble tiles

hello i need advice.
I have some carara polished marble wall tiles to fit.
the bathroom has studing walls ,can anyone tell me what boards i have to install on the walls to take the weight of the tiles?.
where can i get these boards?.
what adesive should i use?
what grout?.
do i need to seal them?.

A cement board like hardi backer or wedi boards will suffice.

where can i get these boards?.

You can get them at tile outlets or online, also Tile giant do a good one called aqua panel.


what adhesive should i use?

A cement based adhesive in white.

what grout?.

A fast setting grout like Mapei ultra colour to prevent picture framing to the tiles

do i need to seal them?.

Yes you need to seal them.. LTP MPG sealer or Aqua mix ultra solv are good ones.

thanks for your help.im looking at tile giant now.
i see the aqa board is avaialble in 12.5 m and 6m.would the 6m be ok?.its going onto a stud with the plaster board removed.
they sell screws to ,are they special in some way?.
also are these boards water proof?.it dont say

Needs to be 12.5mm on walls.. and yes they are fully water resistant and you need to buy the tape for the joints..and the screws are none corrosive which you will need so no rust comes through the stone.

Aquapanel cement board is an extremely durable tile backer providing a solid substrate for wet indoor areas such as bathrooms, shower rooms and wet rooms. Resistant to mould and mildew, Aquapanel will not deteriorate in water. It retains its strength even if fully immersed.

Ah,, sorry you mean the aqua panels.. yes .. you can score with a Stanley type knife and snap them..

I use an angle grinder.. but a score with a knife a few times will work..
