As for your wall being a stud wall adjacent to next door, then it will just be a stud wall up against a block wall......a stud partition wall alone would not be allowed due to fire regulations........

Sorry Dave I meant apart from those two walls either side which are block and plaster (I'm mid terrace). The rest of my walls are stud walls

I have lived up here for 22 years! Only been in the building side of it for a year so everything I pick up from other tradesmen is based around their terminology. At least you knew what I meant!:yes:

Just had a look in my Collins Compact English dictionery and unfortunately Dwang isn't in it. Noggin is though - "Small quantity of spirits" is the definition! Nothing about horizontal bits of wood in stud walls!

Don't know where that gets us really but i just thought I would let y'all know!
