hi guys how much do you charge to re grout a full bathroom ? a normal size one

Won't the tiles get damaged when removing the grout?

I did a regrout once, the tiles where really cheap and the glaze chipped really easy it took me ages. Never again will i do a re grout.

Hey with the right tool and right price your laughing. Just need to get the right price and right tool!!!!!!

Fein Multimaster, Dremel with grout attachment or other?

Hand held carbhide saw will take you all day and the next and probably the day after!!!! Even then it wont get it all out in my opinion!

it's one of those jobs i wouldn't take on ...i've heard it's very very hard work...Trade tiler sell a tool called a grout rake....and to be honest alot of elbow grease is required
and there's always this broken link removed

now i would guess your grout line thickness prob has to be 3mm ...wouldn't like to use it if it was 2 mm

thing is with this machine i would be very worried about chipping the tile trying to get the grout out.

It's deffo a job i would stear clear of ...but if i really had to do it...then the grout rake would be my option only because i'm controlling the removal of the grout and not the power of the machine.

After this job i bet you can compete in MR UNIVERSE....lol

I was asked to do this a while ago, I took it on at a daily rate, never again. I'd rather pull my finger nails out and stab my own eyeballs with them.
But yeh, a daily rate and I was there twice as long as expected.

why dont you use aquamix grout recolourant instead of removing existing grout

My first paying job was to re-grout a shower cubicle. Warned the customer that it was virtually impossible to remove old grout without some damage to tiling and that it was a long tedious job. It took me 2 days, using a dremmel, ok but not brilliant, and a good grout rake. Got a few blisters but also a cheque for £220, along with r request to do more work on another shower (not regrout) in main bathroom. Customer was delighted.
