hey everyone just started the first week of ma 4 week tiling course and i feel am getting nowhere did anyone feel like that on there first week???its not that i really really enjoy it!!and i think i am crap!!any advice??

What course are you doing out of interest?

I think you should talk to your tutor, if he's any good i'm sure he will understand and maybe give you some extra attention should you need it.

You may find that next week you really settle into it and find it a bit easier.

Yout not crap! Get a grip of your instructor and tell him your concerns. Keep yer chin up mate

Its a massive change i suspect from your old job is it. Something new will always make you question your ability and suitability.

Have a chat with your instructor. Its in their interests, from a referal point of view, to make sure you enjoy and benefit.

My tips would be....

Write everything down you hear. Practise everything each night when the course finishes, even if it's going over it in your head. You'll then get a few questions popping up in your head so write them down and get them answered the next day.

Pester your tutor(s) every time you think of a question and WRITE IT DOWN.

Watch what the others are doing and make sure you're always on a parr where possible speed-wise and skill-wise...

Keep at it. Don't get stressed. And then write something down again.

Apparently the brain can only soak in 20% of the information fed to it in an hour. So you're not going to pick it all up right there and then. Write the methods and tips down you hear and then keep going over it to make sure you understand it and then can do the task without your notes.
