never had that problem either ...try talking to tile manufacturer or grout tech line....dave...

Certain types of porcelain should be sealed with a porcelain impregnator...if you wet the tile and then wipe it and it stops wet for a while then it needs sealing before you grout........

grout can lock into the pores of porcelain and then be a swine to remove......

Asked at Topps and they say not had a problem with that tile before, everything they told me I already knew, used Bal porcelbond and Bal wide joint flexi grout.

Every job I've done ends up with a film over it after I've used my washboy but half an hour later it can be just wiped off,its definately not going away this time the bugger.

Bal superflex wide joint mate
If its a polished porcelain, fila extra strong residue remover should have sorted it....apply neat with cloth leave for 10 mins and then scour with softest grout clean up pad.......then wash with clean water.....if this dosn't work then use Bal Epoxy resin remover...but test it on a tile first to see it dosnt mealt it !!

  • Removes cured grout
  • Easy to apply
  • Quick and effective
  • Non-hazardous formula
hope this helps....Gaz

try using porcelain impregnator... works wonders at stopping the residue getting hold........dave.....

I used the fila extra strong residue remover almost neat today and went to town on the tiles with my tool brush(for cleaning adhesive off tools)took 2 hours of seriously hard scrubing but it came off in the end,I now know how cinderalla felt,I know have arms like Popeye.Used porcelain impregnater on the tiles afterwards to make them less likely to get grimy.

Thanks for the tip Dave:wink_smile:

That product by Bal is what the tech line told me to use Gaz but no one does it near me.

Thanks for the advice though.
