Im looking to re train as a tiler, i am booked on a course at the diy school for 4 days and will practice around my current job.

i have done up a couple of properties up before and have been working as a electrical and mechanical engineer at a factory for the past 10 years so i am very proficient using tools and my hands.

i am currently living in south yorkshire and would be very gratefull if a tiler would let me 'tag along ' for the odd job,

my plan is to get as much practice as possible before i move to cornwall with my partner in august.

when i hand in my notice i want to do a 4 week course before moving down in advanced tiling , basic plumbing and plastering so i can offer a complete solution.

I eventually will do my part P so I can wire showers and test and certify them myself as i have hnc in elecs and 17th ed.

i am under no illusion i will be any where near the standard of a time served tiler after a few months as i myself completed a 5 year apprenticeship in engineering. but as we have been given a property in cornwall and will have no rent or mortgage to pay i wont have the financial worries of when and where work will come from, and as there aren't any large manufacturing firms in cornwall i have decided that this what i want to do - to be my own boss.

any advice or offers of experience would be greatly appreciated guys.

cheers:lol:
