Hi, Fellow tilers.
Ive recenly tiled a bathroom, walls and floor, in "Travertine". Which involved fitting "Skirtings" trimed off with "Lambs Tongue" Travertine mouldings,(internal and external mitres).I also formed 2 window cills, also capped off with Travertine mouldings!
The whole job was approx 18 meters,(not including the skirtings/cills/mitres).
Im not sure how much to "invoice" the customer for? I have done the said job on a labour only basis,(customer supplied Adhesives/grout/Inpregnator).

How much should i charge?
The Customer is "highly delighted" with the work ive carried out.
Youre thoughts please.
Thanks.
Charles..

Hello charles and welcome to the forums..........did you not give a price before hand..?..

hi Dave,
no i didnt give a price before hand ? I did the job via a plumber i usually "fix" for!
I have a rough idea of 860 pounds? It was just the mouldings/mitres etc, i wasnt sure about?
What is the average rate for fitting "Travertine"?
ps,
Im a time served Tiler! Ive been in the trade since 1979.
I just wanted to submit a fair price, taking into consideration the Detailed work carried out.
Thanks..
Charles.

Hi charles..i tend not to get involved in the pricing as it differs so much up and down the country......but i would just charge hourly/day rate for the skirts etc..as long as you are happy at what you make for the job then that counts as well.......

the pricing crew will be along shortly.........maybe you could post us some pics to have a look at....we love pics on here....

Hi Charles welcome to the Forums. I am surprised no price was quoted especially from someone with your obvios experience. However £860 seems fair that would giove you £40 a M2 for the tiling and £140 for the additional work. How long did it take you?

Kev

Correct mate, put it in the most relevant forum, ie questions about materials ask in adhesives and grout forum etc etc

Hello Charles,
I work for BAL and don't get involved in pricing jobs either sorry (20yrs doing it for myself was more than enough). Any questions regarding our products then just ask, welcome to the forums......Gaz

hi Kev,
I did the job through a plumber i usually fix for! He knows my work is always "Top notch"! I did tell him that fitting "Travertine" was a whole different ball game to Ceramics. The job took me approx 5-6 days? I think 860 sounds about right?
Thanks mate
Charles...
