Hi Guys,
Been lurking in the background for a couple of weeks and just registered this evening to this great site.
I'll try and keep this short and sweet and keep the waffling to a minimum :lol:
Basically, I am currently a Quantity Surveyor self employed in the industry and after much thought am looking to train as a tiler and take things slowly as the Surveying is very slow at the moment and after 12 years of it (straight from leaving school) I've had enough of the rat race.
Just before leaving school and for a while after I worked for my neighbour who did mainly bathrooms and had a very good reputation and in hindsight wish I had never gone down the ''white collar'' route and stuck with it.
Fortunately, I still live with the folks so have no mortgage, wife or kids to finance so that relieves ''some'' of the pressure of starting down a new route etc.
I'm on a course in July and plan to get the ball rolling as much as I can soon after that within my capabilties and confidence levels and also the fact I'll have no previous references/ portfolio.
Anyway, anyone else in the Croydon/ South London area ?
