Hi new member here help needed

Halfway through a new bathroom at my house ,my plumber mate came to do a bit yesterday and said that the tiles I'm using are not suitable for shower enclosure.they are a line beige Matt 600x300 ceramic karateam? On the box it says nonvitreous .looking on the net it says that they absorb too much water to be used in wet areas but surely if they are glazed does the glaze stop the absorption?any ideas fellas as the whole bathroom apart from the shower is done !many thanks

Hi and welcome...you might find that the glaze dos'nt roll onto the edge far enough allowing water to penetrate from there...

ceramic tiles are fine for any domestic bathroom even with a shower over the bath just make sure that after you grout your work you leave adequate time for the grout to cure before using the shower

The glaze seems to cover over the edge of the tile not the whole thickness but maybe half way would epoxy grout ensure they are ok?

You would be making the job a bit more difficult for yourself using epoxy. I'm sure a good quality grout like bal superflex would suffice.

I have tanked it with mapei shower kit ,that will help yeah?

Definitely.
A lot of people are under the impression that tiles, tile adhesive & tile grout are all waterproof.
Use the proper gear & it will be water resistant, not waterproof, so tanking your shower area should give you years of hassle free washing.

Am going to use epoxy grout for peace of mind,any tips?would you grout corners and against tray ,I know you normally leave them and silicone but thought maybe epoxy is stronger or should I do both ?epoxy and silicone.

the gaps are for expansion not grouting. You will be fine with standard grout, if you haven't used epoxy and are adamant then I would research it thoroughly before application.
