Hi one and all! I reside in California, USA and have gradually become more familiar with tiling. Until retirement I was a computer programmer so no skills whatsoever.

I started by tiling our fireplace with a seating area (don't recommend as first project) and finally tiled the hallways and kitchen. Not so bad except had to remove old tile and tile over rough surface. It helps to know what you're doing there and a pain for a novice. Maybe even for a pro. The tiles became more level with each succeeding project so I take solace in that. You'd think I was on the grog on the first projects. Anyway, I'm now doing our guest bathroom and eventually will hit the master bath. Thankfully my brother-in-law (professional) already built a custom shower in our master bath.

I'll say this, if I had my life to do over again I'd have skipped computers and gone into the building trade. At least what is done has some longevity and, if done reasonably well, will be appreciated for some time.

If you've read this far, it is appreciated and I look forward to communicating with forum members.
