4mm square notch is the tool I use when sticking up homelux wall matting, just be sure to trowel all adhesive in the same direction, makes it easier to pull the air out when bedding the matting down.

Do you get plenty enough pressure on with one of these Whitebeam?

I've got a 6" roller would'nt go any bigger but do find with that size I can put enough pressure onto the membrane.

Mines a very dense rubber and cost a bit more than those in the link.

I just use my float...adhesive pretty wet but not so that it doesn't hold the ribs and it flattens out very easy...but i use the Dural membranes and they are not as thick..
