Hi Guys

I've seen some ceramic tiles which I like in Topps Tiles however, Tile depot do a similar tile for about half the price... (Not the same dimensions but each one would cover approx the same sized area).
I've always been a firm believer in you get what you paid for... or in this case am I being stupid? Is there a differance in quality of tiles of the same thickness?
Or is it Topps Tiles just adding £ to their prices because they are a major retailer.

As experts and work with all kinds of tiles I wonder what your thoughts on this are:

Ceramic tiles are generally all of the lesser quality tile types although they're still not bad to be fair. They just chip easier etc.

Thicker ones might often be 'tougher' than thinner ones but all will be prone to chipping if something heavy is dropped on them in the future.

As Sir Ramic said, link us to them both and we might be able to help you out.

Generally speaking, if the tile has a very red/brown clay on the back then it's usually of poor quality.

Hi Guys

The one from Tile Depot is a reddish Brown colour clay while the Topps Tiles one is a creme colour clay.

Here is the link for the Topps Tiles - Tile Topps Tiles | UK's Biggest Tile & Wood Flooring Specialist
and the one at Tiledepot (thought they were the same name but I was wrong)

I want to add that the quality is depends on a material what used to make tile and not thickness of a tile.I am renovating my home with new tiles and I am using a ceramic tile of 4 mm. It is sufficiently thick. The cement used to make tile should be of good quality and the other material is also of good quality. But the thickness also keeps an equal importance like quality. The tile must be of sufficient thick. If you bought a tile of more thickness then when you place a tile on floor then the floor become a more highted. Also, would like to mention is there are same type of designs for two different qualities hence you need to check that all the tiles is of equal thickness and same quality.
