how do you protect your baths and worktops and the like

As being very clean and careful is a huge part of reccomendation please can you tell me how you look after all your customers .

what do you do to stop tiles falling into bath wen removing or putting them up and chipping or scrathing.worktops in kitchen .outside area when using your wet cutter etc.any help would be gr8.Have heard of a bath board though what ever that is.plz help

Broken up cardboard boxes normally or dust sheets and a polythene sheet for outside when using the wet cutter!

A bathboard is a piece of ply that sits on the top of the bath. It gives some protection to the bath as well as being a platform to stand on and also as a base for your tools if you are not using it to stand on!

Mine has carpet glued to the bottom to protect the bath. You shoudl also mabe put padding inside the bath and also use dust sheets as well.

The bath board will leave small gaps where damage can occur , that is why you need the added padding s protection.

To protect floor areas either inside or out, I have a couple of 3x2m tarps from homebase.

hi all good idea thanks guys.you must have a big van though to fit in the board unless its in 2 bits.might do the same but use that non slip rubber matting for underside so it stays in place.

Also if you lot want as i am also a marine upholsterer and marquee maker.Am going to start making a couple of high strength pvc tarps in any colour you want.Also going to recover one of those cheap pop up tents you get 10ft x 10ft in clear pvc plastic so i can use my cutter in rain with maximum lighting what you reckon.

My board is 1500x750 and it fits nicely in the back of my beemer estate. in fact it goes in first to give a nice platform to put everything else on to.

For worktops i use a thin rubbery wooden floor underlay, cut into 600mm strips. then cover that with a dustsheet, draped down to the floor. and a board and sheet on the bath.
