I've always combed my adhesive in one direction but, must say, the bit about moving the tile across the ridges is new for me. Using a glass tile to demonstrate is a great idea. Brilliant video.

I think in the british standards for tiling it states that in the UK you're meant to apply the tile and then do a twisting motion as you apply pressure.

Anybody got the BS books to hand?

Brilliant demonstration there. I preffer to comb in one direction and have been laughed at by by plumber mate who reckons Im just being fusy. I often preffer to spread with the flat side of the trowel and then comb too.

Great information and demo on how to achieve good coverage and as said glass makes is it simpler to understand.

I do a 2mm thick dot and dab, every time. That's how I can make a 20kg bag of adhesive cover 40 - 50m2 of floor :lol:
