I haven't done a heatmat in a while, until today. (mesh backed btw)
Had a bit of a faff to get it to lie flat so I could slc over the top.
In the end I knocked up some stiff addy and pressed it through the mesh with the flat, short edge of a trowel, in a few places first.
How do you do yours?

I use a heated glue gun, squeeze a small blob under the wire then push down, works for me.

As above, used to struggle with them 'til someone on here said about glue guns, got a cheap one and a load of glue sticks a while back, £15 well spent.

me too, glue guns you can get easily, get extra glue sticks though, your gonna need them!

I use a glue gun sometimes, but I tend to use Devi which is self adhesive, so I prime the floor allow to dry then roll out the mat. Only problem is if you don't get the position spot on first time you can struggle to take it up and re-fit.

I find that most "high spots" are where loops are Phil and there's none of the sticky tape there, that's why I use glue in a can stuff, to stick those turns down.

I know exactly what you mean, that is where I use the glue gun. How good is this forum, I feel we have sometimes telepathic links, with everyone on here.

If small room, I have used double sided tape before now.

Glue gun.

I also keep wider tape in my van, because the tape supplied by some is far too narrow.

I use a nailgun. You have to be sure to go right through EVERY cable if you want to benefit from the extra earthing that the nails provide.

p.s. Just come back from the "become and electrician in 4 weeks course". Money well spent that was.

Nail gun  Electrician in 4 weeks

Well as I said at the start, I stuck mine down with some addy and slc over the top. Back this morning and all looks good EXCEPT, as has been stated, a couple of the loops seem to have "floated" up and were sitting slightly proud. Not really a problem, just need to take care around them.
I must look out for a glue gun for the next time
